This September, Toronto Dragon Festival returns to Nathan Phillips Square for three days of Chinese culture, live performances, Asian street food, entertainment, and innovation in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Running September 4th to 6th, this epic Chinese cultural showcase will transform Nathan Phillips Square into a vibrant gathering featuring traditional performances, multicultural programming, immersive showcases, food vendors, fashion, and a new technology experience.

Chaoshan Yingge Dance Makes Its Toronto Debut

One of the major highlights of this year’s festival is the Toronto debut of the Chaoshan Yingge Dance, one of China’s dynamic living intangible cultural heritage performances.

Known for its thunderous rhythms, powerful choreography, warrior-inspired movements, and festive symbolism, the traditional folk performance blends storytelling and spectacle into an energetic celebration of Chinese heritage.

Guests can also enjoy the festival’s signature lion and dragon dances, including breathtaking high-pole lion dance performances featuring gravity-defying acrobatics.
