Filmmakers can apply for the Vimeo Short Film Grant to receive $60,000 to support the production of their next original short film.

With the Vimeo Short Film Grant, Vimeo will provide $60,000 each in cash, mentorship, equipment, and other perks to support five filmmakers in the production of their next original short film.

Launched in 2025, the Vimeo Short Film Grant will provide one-on-one sessions with celebrated filmmakers, access to select Panavision camera packages and OWC storage, one-on-one mentorship with the jury, screenings, distribution and promotion on Vimeo, and other perks. The grant is also supported by Panavision, OWC, AJA Video Systems, and ShotDeck.

Available Funding/Prizing

The available funding/prizing for the Vimeo Short Film Grant, includes

• $60,000 cash grant each to 5 filmmakers
  • To be put towards an original short film made in US or Canada
• Camera loans
  • Panavision camera packages loaned for production, with storage provided by OWC
• One-on-one mentorship sessions with jury members and the Vimeo Curation Team
  • Sessions with the jury and the Vimeo Curation Team on scriptwriting, editing, festival strategy, financing, distribution, and more
• Promotion and distribution
  • Online distribution with dedicated promotion on Vimeo
• In-person screenings
  • Vimeo-hosted community screenings
• Vimeo products
  • One-year Vimeo Standard Subscription

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for the Vimeo Short Film Grant includes

• Open to residents of the US and Canada only.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.
• Intended for emerging filmmakers who have directed at least two short films but have yet to complete a feature film.
• The funds must be intended for production purposes. Projects currently in production or post-production will not be considered.
• Each applicant is permitted to submit only one project for consideration.
• The Applicant must have a free or paid Vimeo account to enter.
• No purchase is necessary to submit.
