Magical Fun with dazzling lights, festive installations, and enchanting displays in Burlington
Canada’s largest botanical garden, Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG), will be transformed into a winter wonderland featuring dazzling lights, festive installations, holiday exhibits, and enchanting displays providing the perfect holiday experience for family, community members, guests, and lovers of all things festive this holiday season.
Winter Wonders
Guests will explore the RBG’s scenic winter landscape against the backdrop of festive music while savoring warm holiday treats, guided by the glow of lights and twinkling stars. Sip on hot chocolate while you see the captivating light displays in the garden and a singing tree, and capture lovely Instagrammable pictures.
The event showcases outdoor light displays, installations, and continues indoors with seasonal décor, and vibrant plant displays in the rejuvenated Mediterranean Garden and the Breezeway. The Botanical Train Display is also available to view during the evening event. However, the special event tickets do NOT include Garden Admission across RBG facilities, no access to the Escarpment Train Exhibit, and the Imagination Playground won’t be open during the event

Botanical Train Display
Returning to the RBG Centre, the Botanical Train Display is made from almost 700 kg of cedar filled with 2,500 plants to create a seasonal backdrop for seven different lines of model train tracks. Follow the trains on their journey past scale models of iconic Canadian landmarks constructed entirely from plant materials!

Escarpment Train Exhibit
RBG’s “G scale” model train experience, Escarpment Train Exhibit, will take guests on a journey through four seasons of whimsical Canadian landscapes while telling the story of how railroads shaped our history. The Escarpment Train Exhibit at Rock Garden illustrates three eras of locomotion history, including the steam engines of the late 1800s, the streamliners of the 1930s, and the powerful modern diesels of the 1960s up to the present day.

Imagination Playground
Imagination Playground provides an interactive playground for self-guided adventure for children of all ages. Kids will unleash the magic of creativity at RBG with the Imagination Playground, explore and play with uniquely shaped foam blocks that let imaginations soar.
