Hosted by the Burlington Mundialization Committee, the annual Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Festival in Burlington returns this weekend at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
The festival also celebrates the 36th anniversary of the twinning agreement between Burlington and its twin city, Itabashi, Japan.
This free event will feature traditional dance performances, drumming, martial arts demonstrations, art showcases, and beautiful cherry blooms.
Attending guests looking to see the beautiful blossom trees can view them at the Spencer Smith Park (1 min away from the Burlington Performing Arts Centre)
There will also be an appearance from Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and Consul General of Japan, MATSUNAGA Takeshi.
The festival offers a unique opportunity to experience Japanese culture while enjoying one of spring’s most breathtaking natural displays outside the Toronto Area.
As always, you can keep up with all the fun happenings in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area on efosa.
