This summer, one of the GTA’s most beautiful destinations, Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG), hosts a massive contemporary art exhibition, ANCHORBALL: A Curious Art Journey, transforming its gardens into an immersive landscape of wonders, imagination, and discovery.
Created by artist Ken Kelleher, this outdoor spectacle features 18 large-scale monumental works, reaching up to 12 feet tall, alongside an integrated augmented reality experience embedded throughout the garden, bringing together physical and digital elements within a beautiful natural setting.

Internationally known as Anchorball, visitors will be treated to an evolving fictional universe, Low Orbit City, populated by playful, mythical characters. There will also be a hidden digital world using augmented reality with characters known as Cloudwalkers. Visitors can unlock an AR Masterpiece, extending the experience beyond the visible landscape and inviting moments of surprise, play, and exploration throughout the garden.
This exhibition is the Royal Botanical Gardens’ largest and most ambitious to date, and, coinciding with its 85th anniversary, it is a must-see for the summer.
Tickets for adults start at $20 and can be purchased here. You can find more information about the exhibition on the RBG site.
As always, you can keep up with the latest things to do across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area on efosa.
