This weekend, Scarborough will host one of its biggest summer celebrations as The World in a Block Party takes over the Scarborough Town Centre area on June 27th and 28th.

Presented by STC, the two-day community event will bring together food, art, live entertainment, performances, vendors, creative activations, and family-friendly programming, creating a summer celebration rooted in Scarborough’s culture and community.

What to Expect at The World in a Block Party

Guests can expect a packed weekend of arts, food, music, and community experiences throughout both days.

The event will feature an arts market with local vendors, along with a special pop-up from Scarborough Spots. Guests can also enjoy live portraits with Sharon Joy Tung, a pottery demonstration by Millean Kung of The Potter’s Studio, and a listening station by Foodie Artist-in-Residence Shn Shn.

There will also be free art activities, including watercolour postcards with Fresh Paint Studio and zine-making with artist Ashley Beerdat.

Food, Tours, and Scarborough Flavours

Food lovers can look forward to a tasting experience featuring some of Scarborough’s standout restaurants, including Aragoz Egyptian Kitchen, Sisaket Thai Kitchen, and Chef Noi’s Issan-style eatery.

The event will also include a special food tour highlighting local food gems in the Scarborough Town Centre area, along with an exhibition celebrating Scarborough’s vibrant food scene. Guests can also take part in an interactive “Name the Spice” challenge.

Live Performances and Entertainment

The World in a Block Party will also feature a full lineup of live performances and entertainment.

Guests can expect performances from RISE headliners Getchnah and Dynasti, along with artists from SoundLife Scarborough, Filipino band Studio Mahilo, and JUNO-nominated artist Aline Morales with SoundLife’s Brazilian Maracatu performance group.
