A free daytime community festival followed by an evening block party is taking over downtown Toronto this September as West of Spadina Festival returns on September 19th.

Known as one of the Downtown end-of-summer’s biggest community celebrations, West of Spadina will bring together food, music, culture, local businesses, and community programming for a full day of events centred around St. Andrew’s Playground and Waterworks.

The free daytime celebration will transform St. Andrew’s Playground into a lively gathering place with live music, food, drinks, games, pop-ups and community programming in the heart of downtown Toronto.

At the centre of the festivities will be Waterworks, bringing together its collection of restaurants and food concepts alongside local businesses, organizations and members of the surrounding community for an end-of-summer celebration.

Beyond the music, West of Spadina will let visitors explore the neighbourhood through food, local businesses, interactive programming, and community-led activations, making the festival as much about discovering the area as it is about the entertainment.

The Celebration Continues With an Evening Block Party

As the daytime festival winds down, the celebration will continue with a separately ticketed block party at 30 Maud Street from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

This year’s music lineup includes UK DJ Melé, alongside Kiinjo, House of Lords, and other talented acts from across Toronto, bringing an energetic soundtrack to the evening portion of the festival.

Admission to the daytime community festival is completely free, while tickets to the evening block party are $20.

Whether you are stopping by for food and daytime activities or staying for the evening block party, West of Spadina offers another way to experience the neighbourhood while closing out the summer season in downtown Toronto.

A Festival Built With the Neighbourhood

Following its debut in 2024, West of Spadina returns as a celebration built with the neighbourhood, for the neighbourhood, giving Torontonians another reason to explore the area west of Spadina and experience the community surrounding Waterworks.

The festival is made possible through a collaboration between Waterworks Food Hall, CRUEL, Rhythm and the Toronto Downtown West BIA.
