This November, art and science collide in a fascinating new exhibition as the SickKids Research Institute and OCAD University partner to present Unseen Worlds at The Great Hall in downtown Toronto.

Running from November 16th to November 27th, Unseen Worlds takes visitors on an immersive journey through the hidden structures, stories, and discoveries shaping the future of children’s health.
Visitors will explore everything from microscopic cellular structures and neural networks to the often-overlooked realities of caregiving through beautiful, immersive artworks. Through a combination of science and artistic interpretation, Unseen Worlds reveals new perspectives on the human body, scientific discovery, and the promise of precision child health.

By blending remarkable scientific imagery captured in SickKids laboratories with original works created by OCAD U students and alums, the exhibition offers a unique perspective on the worlds that exist beyond what we can normally see.

Designed for curious minds of all ages, the exhibition showcases the beauty, complexity, and possibilities of modern scientific research. From intricate details hidden within our cells to groundbreaking ideas that could transform healthcare, Unseen Worlds highlights the incredible work the SickKids Research Institute is doing to advance children’s health and well-being.

The exhibition is guest curated by Golnoush Mir Salari and features imagery captured by more than 50 SickKids scientists representing six research programs. Their work serves as the inspiration for original artistic responses created by OCAD U students and recent graduates, including:
- TooPink
- Reymond Lise
- Jenna FitzGerald
- Sophia Kyungwon Kim
- Vivienne Valladares
- Sophie Dunkley
- Derek Berry
Families can attend a special Family Day event on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This free event is open to visitors of all ages and offers a unique opportunity to explore stunning scientific and artistic visuals, meet the scientists and artists behind the exhibition, participate in hands-on creative activities, and discover science through engaging interactive experiences designed especially for children and families.
