One of Toronto’s most anticipated summer events, the Waterfront Night Market, returns to the grounds of Hotel X Toronto from August 14th to 16th

Designed to recreate the lively atmosphere of traditional Asian street markets, Waterfront Night Market brings together authentic street food, live entertainment, cultural performances, illuminated installations, and interactive experiences for three evenings along Toronto’s waterfront.

Pan-Asian Food and Live Entertainment

Food sits at the centre of the festival, with vendors serving a mouthwatering selection of street food and flavours inspired by cuisines from across Asia.

Throughout the weekend, music will fill the grounds as Canadian and international Asian artists perform across multiple stages. Guests can also experience lion and dragon dances, cultural showcases, and nightly entertainment celebrating the diversity and creativity of Asian communities.

The festival is anchored by its signature Pan-Asian Food Festival, Illuminasian Lantern Experience, and Music Fest, creating an immersive celebration of food, music, light, and culture.

Celebrating the Qixi Festival

At the heart of WNMFEST is the celebration of the Qixi Double Seventh Festival, often known as Chinese Valentine’s Day.

The tradition tells the story of two star-crossed lovers who are reunited once each year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. At the festival, guests can honour this story and connect with loved ones while crossing the WNMFEST Unity Bridge.

Markets, Gardens and Illuminated Experiences

Guests can stroll through the Kre8ions Garden and browse a bustling artisan market featuring local vendors, handmade products, art, and unique finds.

As the sun sets, the Waterfront Night Market begins to glow through the XIXbition of Lights. Illuminated pathways, colourful lantern displays, and glowing installations transform the grounds into a vibrant nighttime celebration.

Guests can also make a wish and release a complimentary LED lantern onto the custom Illuminasian Floating Lantern Pond with the purchase of any festival ticket. The annual tradition creates a memorable moment centred around light, love, unity, and hope.
