Getting Ready for the Toronto Carnival/ Tips for attending
Dress Comfortably
Come ready to dance and party. Although there’s no official dress code, style is part of the experience. Dress vibrant, comfortable, and festival-ready. Remember to wear comfy footwear as you will be on your feet. Like a lot!
Pack Light, but Smart
A small waist pack or bag, charger for your phone, ID, and a water bottle will suffice.
Stay Hydrated and Pace Yourself
Toronto’s sun does not play. Drinks lots of fluids. If you’re drinking, don’t go overboard — Carnival is better when you remember it!
Be Respectful
Carnival is about celebrating Caribbean heritage, not just a party. Be respectful of costumes, masqueraders, and the traditions they represent.
Use Public Transit
If you don’t have to drive, don’t! There will be a lot of traffic. It is inevitable. There will be TTC buses to help you navigate to the nearest subway station.
