STRANDS & STRUCTURES, the immersive photo-documentary exhibition by multidisciplinary artists Asia Clarke and Christian Saint, will be on display this summer in Toronto from June 14th to July 28th at the Chinatown Centre, Unit 270 Gallery, following the monumental success of its debut exhibition in Accra, Ghana.
The exhibition will kick off via its opening night celebration on June 14th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Chinatown Centre, Unit 270 Gallery. There will also be a series of events for the exhibition. See the information below.

About The Exhibition
Curated by Giles Monette and Produced by Hanna Cheng, the exhibition weaves a powerful narrative that transcends geographical boundaries, exploring themes of air pollution, water pollution, transportation, energy, market economy, and construction. Behind-the-scenes footage will offer a glimpse into the creative process, while captivating soundscapes will immerse visitors into the journey with insightful research.
STRANDS & STRUCTURES also propels an engaging narrative connecting Afro-Caribbean-inspired hair sculpture to environmental realities, exploring the impact of our existence on the spaces we build and discard. Set in Ghana and touring worldwide, the importance of this work transcends borders, promising a worldwide resonance.
About The Artists
Asia Clarke is an Afro-Caribbean Canadian Multidisciplinary Artist, Designer, and Hairstylist who centers sustainability and futures-thinking in her art practice. She is passionate about re-envisioning futures and helping communities, clients, and brands to envision and actualize their creativity. Her intricate hair designs have been published worldwide and featured in major publications such as Vogue Netherlands, Vogue Italy, Wall Street Journal, Bubblegum Club South Africa, Dazed Magazine, Wall Street Journal and Acne Paper. Her clients include Burberry, Adidas, Apple, Kendrick Lamar, Free The Youth Ghana, and Daily Paper.
Christian Saint is a Ghanaian Multidisciplinary Artist, Film Director, & Creative Producer who is deeply inspired by African imagery and the robust library of storytelling from the African continent. He believes that, as Africans, we are the custodians of our history and are dedicated to ending misrepresentation in media and creative space. He has worked on projects with Beats by Dre, Atlantic Records UK, Daily Paper, Rema, Faure Le Page, Lacoste, EMPIRE, DAZED, Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa, Skepta, Davido, Sarkodie, etc. His work has been featured in GQ Middle East, Complex, Hypebeast Arabia, The FADER, and many other publications.
