This fall, one of Toronto’s most distinctive waterfront sites will be transformed into Public Pier, a free cultural experience featuring public art, live music, food, dance and immersive nighttime projections.

Taking place over three consecutive weekends from September 18 to October 3, this day-to-night experience will bring curated food and drink markets, live DJ sets, beginner-friendly dance workshops and interactive public art installations to Marina Quay West.

As night falls, SILO NIGHTS, curated by OCAD University, will transform the Canada Malting Silos into a monumental canvas for immersive art, sound and storytelling. The program will feature Canadian, Toronto and world premieres by local and international artists.

Featured works include:

• Decomposition No. 7: Undergrowth by Ali Phi, curated and presented in partnership with The Bentway
• Breathe by Faisal Anwar, presented in partnership with The Blackwood Gallery, University of Toronto Mississauga
• The Shape of Memory by OOOPStudio, presented by Instituto Italiano di Cultura – Toronto and Consulate General of Italy, Cultural Section, in collaboration with the European Union through its Delegation to Canada
• Animation Collaboration Workshop Project, led by Pablo Gracias with OCAD U students, presented in partnership with the French Embassy of Canada and Institut français du Canada, in collaboration with the European Union through its Delegation to Canada
• Travel Diary of a Particle, presented with support from the Arts Council of Ontario | Conseil des arts de l’Ontario, Ministère des affaires francophones de l’Ontario, Délégation Wallonie Bruxelles, Wallonie Bruxelles International, and Wallonie Bruxelles Enseignement
• The Light by Paul Murnaghan and Melting Temporalities by Claire Brunet and Johnny Ranger, presented in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to Canada and the Global Centre for Climate Action at OCAD U

From September 17th to 20th, visitors can also experience the Canadian debut of Paul Ramírez Jonas’s Public Trust. Presented by The Bentway, the interactive artwork invites Torontonians to make promises to themselves, one another and the city. Each promise becomes part of a changing public installation that creates a living portrait of Toronto.
