The Summer Company Program by the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, and Government of Ontario grants eligible parties start-up funds to start a summer business and advice and mentorship from local business leaders within your community. Successful applicants get up to $1,500 upfront to help with start-up costs and up to $1,500 upon completing program requirements.
Eligible parties can apply for the grant. The eligibility criteria include the following.
Applicants must
attend a high school, college, or university
live in Ontario
be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
be between 15-29 years old (if under 18: a parent or guardian must sign the agreement for the applicant)
not be already running a business
not be working at another job or going to school for more than 12 hours a week during the program
be returning to school after the program ends
have not received a summer grant in the past
