Located at Midtown Toronto, Pii Nong Thai offers one of Canada’s most unique Thai experiences, bringing together a restaurant, Thai market, and massage studio all under one roof.

More than just a place to eat, the 10,000-square-foot space invites guests to experience different sides of Thai hospitality in a single destination, from authentic cuisine and specialty market finds to wellness and relaxation. It is designed to go beyond dining, offering a fuller expression of food, culture, and care in the heart of the city.

Named after its eponymous owner, Chef Pii Nong, the concept reflects a deep appreciation for Thai cuisine, wellness, community, and tradition.
The Story Behind Pii Nong Thai
Sawasdee ka. Hello.
For Chef Pii Nong, food has always been rooted in love, memory, and community.

Growing up in Bangkok, some of her most meaningful memories were spent cooking street food alongside her mother, learning not only the flavours and techniques of Thai cuisine, but also the joy of bringing people together through food. Those early experiences shaped the way she saw cooking: not simply as a craft, but as an expression of love, generosity, and community.

When she moved from Bangkok to Toronto, Chef Pii Nong carried that spirit with her. She wanted to continue sharing the warmth of Thai hospitality through food while creating a space where people could experience more than just a meal.

Her longtime dream was to open a Thai market, a place where guests could discover specialty ingredients, products, and everyday items connected to Thai culture. When the opportunity came to expand that vision, she decided to bring together her love of cooking, wellness, and community into one cohesive destination.

The result is Pii Nong Thai, a three-in-one experience that reflects her journey from Bangkok to Toronto while offering guests a deeper connection to Thai culture.
The Space: Thailand in Toronto
Stepping inside Pii Nong Thai is passport straight to Bangkok from Toronto.

Spanning two floors, the 10,000-square-foot space is divided into three distinct areas: a Thai market, a dining room, and a massage studio. Each area is designed with Thai architectural details, cultural references, warm textures, and vibrant accents that make the space feel immersive without being overwhelming.

Guests first enter through the Thai market, where shelves are filled with authentic Thai goods, snacks, ingredients, and specialty products. The walls are lined with playful references to Thai culture, from Thai licence plates to motorcycles mounted on the wall. Yes, actual motorcycles.
Despite the bold design details, the space never feels overdone. It feels welcoming, personal, and full of character.
A door from the market leads into a spacious 120-seat dining room designed with timber finishes, vibrant colours, and architectural details inspired by Thailand. The room feels lively and transportive, creating the perfect backdrop for a dining experience rooted in comfort, flavour, and hospitality.

Upstairs, the experience continues with the massage studio, offering guests a quieter and more restorative side of Thai culture. Together, the market, restaurant, and wellness space create a layered destination that goes beyond dining, giving visitors a fuller sense of Thai hospitality in the heart of Toronto.
The Food
At the heart of Pii Nong Thai is a menu built around the depth, comfort, and bold flavours of Thai cuisine.
One of the standout dishes is the Deluxe Sea & Land Tower, a three-tiered Thai-style surf and turf platter designed for sharing. The top tier features grabong and crispy baby crabs, while the middle tier highlights charcoal-grilled Thai skewers, including beef tenderloin, chicken breast, and pork belly. The bottom tier brings together a premium seafood selection with marinated Thai raw prawns, salmon sashimi, tiger shrimp, sea scallops, raw oysters, and clams.

Another highlight is the Grabong, golden crispy shredded taro fritters coated in a red curry paste and lime leaf batter. Served with a house-made basil mint mayo dip, the dish is crispy, fragrant, and full of texture.

For something classic, the Bangkok Street Pad Thai brings a traditional street-style approach to one of Thailand’s most recognizable dishes. Made with egg, chives, tofu, bean sprouts, pickled radish, and thin rice noodles tossed in a fresh tamarind pad Thai sauce, it delivers the balance of sweet, savoury, tangy, and nutty flavours that make the dish so beloved.
Other menu standouts include Thai Street Style Crispy Wings, offering a flavour-packed take on a familiar favourite, and the Soft Shell Crab Curry, featuring two lightly battered crispy soft shell crabs served with a rich, aromatic curry.
Price Range and Dining Experience
