A fun-filled afternoon of curly haircare and styling just outside Toronto
Niya Coily World, a Black collective that advocates for natural hair education for children, hosts a hands-on haircare workshop at the McLean Community Centre, just outside Toronto, on July 5th.
Led by expert facilitators, this intimate workshop will equip kids with curly hair care tips and techniques in a kid-friendly setting. There will also be a guided painting session that celebrates the beauty and versatility of Black hair—highlighting its cultural significance as both art and self-expression.
Parents are welcome to bring their children with loose hairstyles so they can learn and practice their hair care. Each child will receive a swag bag containing valuable tools, including a mist bottle, a detangle brush, a wide-tooth comb, and more.
Parents and Kids will leave with practical skills and confidence to care for their hair, making wash days and styling less stressful for the whole family.
As always, you can keep up with all the fun happenings in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area on efosa.
