Celebration of contemporary Irish theatre and the magic of storytelling in Toronto
From April 25th to May 25th, lovers of theater, arts, storytelling, and fun things to do in Toronto can celebrate as the Bealtaine Theatre Festival hosts Toronto’s first Irish Theatre festival at the Ontario Heritage Center, celebrating the best of contemporary Irish theatre, music, and storytelling.
Guests should expect to be immersed in dynamic performances blending traditional and modern artistic expressions from Ireland’s most exciting voices across various Toronto venues, as well as the best contemporary Irish theatre, music, dance, and storytelling.

The festive showcase opens with highly-reviewed The King of All Birds (April 25–27) at the Ontario Heritage Center—an innovative, music-driven show that explores humanity’s dream of flight. There will be other exciting theatre shows through the course of the festival, including a critically acclaimed solo show (Tom Moran is a Big Fat Filthy Disgusting Liar), a magical music-filled performance (Story of a Day – Scéal Lae), and an eccentric playful journey through literature (The Libravian)

Presented by the Canada Ireland Foundation, the festival spotlights a dynamic mix of performances and artistry, fostering a powerful cultural exchange between Ireland and Canada.
Be among the first to experience this bold new celebration of Irish creativity, bringing the best of Ireland’s artistic talent to Toronto and launching a vibrant cultural exchange between Ireland and Canada.
