The City of Mississauga offers grants via its Live Music Grant Program to support concert presenters in hosting vibrant, live music events in the city in 2025.

About the 2025 Live Music Grant

The Live Music Grant is made possible by the Municipal Accommodation Tax. The grant provides funding to offset eligible expenses associated with hosting live music events. It is open to for-profit applicants, including artists, venue operators, promoters, bars, restaurants, and other potential music event hosts.

The Live Music Grant program is part of the City’s Music Strategy, which aims to increase the presence of live music events in Mississauga while helping create new spaces for live music performances.

To support applicants in the grant application process, the city of Mississauga offers two information sessions on March 6th and 26th to answer questions about the grant.

Available Funding/Prizing

• New Concert presenters may apply for $1000 towards eligible concert expenses.
• Established Concert presenters may apply for up to 50% of the concert’s total operating budget or $2,500, whichever is less.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Live Music grants assist new and established concert presenters in two categories. The “concert presenter” can be a musician, music venue, bar, restaurant, or concert production business.

Eligibility criteria include

• Concerts must take place in Mississauga.
• Concerts must feature a minimum of 50% Mississauga-based musicians (for musical groups, 50% of the members must be based in Mississauga)
• Concert Presenters must be operating on a for-profit model.

Attending an information webinar is a mandatory part of the application process for first-time applicants who haven’t applied for city funding in the last two years.
