Epic Celebration of Wine Tasting in Toronto's Iconic Location
Over the weekend, thousands of wine lovers, enthusiasts, and lovers of all things wine converged at the vast Roundhouse Park just beneath the iconic CN Tower for WineFest Toronto, the city’s biggest wine summer festival.
The festival provided a rare opportunity for visitors and locals to discover and taste all types of wines from around the world, including South Africa, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, and, of course, our very own local wineries in Canada.
Arriving a bit earlier than usual, I watched guests arrive in droves and smiles, some with umbrellas and raincoats, amidst the light drizzle in the wishy-washy Toronto summer weather. Luckily, the rain subsided less than an hour after the event started.
My excitement grew as I discovered the vast selection of wines on offer. With over 70 wine partners and a staggering 200 types of wine to sample, the options were truly endless. I observed with delight as guests eagerly lined up at each stall, ready to embark on their own wine-tasting adventure. I indulged in a few myself and I may just be a new wine enthusiast.
The DJs knew the vibe as Reggaeton, Soca, Afrobeats and the hottest pop hits blazed through the speakers, adding to the location’s ambiance.
As the evening went on, the venue got busier, with people arriving later. Guests moved to the central area of the park for dances, with music blaring in the background, adding to the vibe.
Night came, and so was the close of the event, just at 10:00 pm, WineFest Toronto was a delightful celebration of international and local wines, and while I would have appreciated more food options to complement the excellent wines, I am already looking forward to next year’s edition. The event was a testament to the city’s love for wine, and I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store.
