Experience the Sublime Beauty of Verdi’s Requiem with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir in Toronto
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir (TMChoir) concludes its mainstage season, showcasing Verdi’s Requiem across two of Toronto’s premier venues. This awe-inspiring performance will first grace the stage at the George Weston Recital Hall on April 27th, followed by a presentation at Koerner Hall on April 30th.
Under the leadership of esteemed Artistic Director and Conductor Jean-Sébastien Vallée, the choir’s 160 voices unite with members of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra to bring this profound work to life.
Featuring an exceptional quartet of soloists, soprano Teiya Kasahara, mezzo-soprano Rose Naggar-Trembley, tenor Andrew Haji, and bass Geoffrey Sirett, the TMChoir invites audiences to experience the depth and intensity of Verdi’s Requiem.
“Presenting this masterpiece in not one, but two of our city’s most revered spaces, is a thrill,” expresses Maestro Vallée. “It’s an honour to share with our community the sheer beauty and emotional power of Verdi’s Requiem through these performances.”
This compelling piece merges a powerful symphonic score and sublime vocal solos with one of the most poignant sacred texts, delivering a cry for mercy and peace. Join the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for this unique opportunity to witness Verdi’s Requiem, a performance that promises to resonate long after the last note fades.
