Theatre Passe Muraille, Canada’s alternative theatre company for independent and experimental theatrical work, presents The Little Prince, which runs from April 4th to 19th in Toronto.
This reimagined adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless tale transcends spoken language, weaving a visually stunning narrative that speaks directly to the heart. Led by visionary Deaf artist and storyteller Landon Krentz, this performance invites audiences into a world where communication transcends words and every gesture tells a story. Follow the little prince as he ventures across whimsical planets, meeting inhabitants and uncovering profound lessons about love, belonging, and the human spirit.

Landon Krentz is a visionary Deaf artist, storyteller, and advocate for Deaf-led performance art. With a deep passion for physical theatre, visual storytelling, and the transformative power of language, Landon specializes in creating work that bridges the gap between Deaf and hearing audiences. As the creator and lead artist of The Little Prince adaptation, Landon brings a fresh, imaginative perspective to this timeless tale, reimagining its journey through the rich and expressive lens of Physical Theatre, Visual Vernacular (VV), and Vertical Dance.
Landon’s artistic achievements include JESSE: An ASL Opera, a groundbreaking operatic exploration of Deaf identity; A World Without Them, a compelling physical theatre and visual vernacular piece developed during their residency at Ghost River Theatre; and the Deaf Artists Retreat, a transformative creative residency fostering collaboration and innovation among Deaf artists. Other work he’s created such as “The Confidence of a Deaf Queer Human” during his time at Soulpepper Theatre and “The Light of the Deep” at Inside Out Theatre’s studio. He also collaborated on “Salmon Cycle” with Julia Taffe from the Aeriosa Dance Society in Vancouver, BC. They are also the published author of 100 Years of Darkness, a poetic and visual exploration of resilience and Deaf culture, further cementing their legacy as a thought leader in the arts.
