Cupid’s Sting Non-Profit, a non-profit interpersonal violence reduction program whose mission is to teach women and girls tools to prevent victimization, is offering its Safe Black Sis™ program to improve the wellness outcomes for Black female youth.
The Safe Black Sis™ program is a youth wellness initiative that fuses movement with safety education. It also features wellness talks, sister circles, and safety discussions in a comfortable, culturally sensitive space. Participants will increase their confidence as they are empowered to find healthy ways to occupy space.
The first cohort for 2024 begins on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:00 pm and will run for six weeks, ending on June 29th,2024. The program is for young women and girls who identify as Black between the ages of 16 and 29.
Participants will be introduced to new activities that will not only challenge them physically and mentally but also help decrease stress and anxiety. This program is designed to improve participants’ overall safety and wellness, giving them hope and optimism. There will be complimentary lunch provided including, snacks, and gift bags full of self-care goodies!
