After spending more than a decade in the beauty industry, Samantha found herself craving something more expressive, genuine, and joyful.

Inspired by color, thoughtfully designed spaces, and the beauty of nature, the Toronto founder brought that vision to life as Plantita & Co. Bloom Bar & Studio, a floral design studio known for its playful, design-forward floral work.
Based in Toronto, Plantita & Co. creates custom floral moments that transform spaces and corporate events into immersive, on-brand experiences through strategic design, bold creativity, and flawless execution.

From brand launches and retail environments to activations and experiential marketing, the studio has become known for bringing spaces to life in a way that feels vibrant, intentional, and distinctly memorable.
What began as a personal love for natural elements and creative expression soon blossomed into one of the city’s most distinctive floral studios.
As Samantha puts it:
Everything just clicked. It felt like I had found a way to combine creativity, nature, and design in a way that actually felt like me.
Building the Brand
For Samantha, the meaning behind the name Plantita & Co. Bloom Bar & Studio is deeply personal. The name reflects both her heritage and the feeling she wants every design to carry.

Raised with Portuguese roots, Samantha developed an early appreciation for the warmth and emotion that can exist in language and culture, and for how small details can make something feel more personal, intentional, and meaningful.
That feeling was further shaped by her Ecuadorian mother-in-law, who often adds “ita” to words to express affection.
As Samantha explains:
Plantita felt like the perfect fit because that’s exactly what I want my work to embody – something thoughtful, warm, and created with intention. Not just beautiful, but something that brings a sense of comfort and life into a space.
As the business grew, so did the brand.
A few years in, it naturally expanded into Plantita Bloom Bar & Studio, introducing Bloom Bars and a dedicated creative space where guests could interact with florals in a hands-on, joyful way.
For Samantha, Toronto was always the natural place to build the brand. Born and raised in the city, she describes it as one of the best places to live and create.
Toronto has also opened the door to collaborations with major brands, including Pinterest, Harry Rosen, Eataly, and Roots.
Creative Process and Design Philosophy
A defining part of Samantha’s process is experimentation and pushing beyond traditional floral design.
As she shares:
I get excited about trying new things, whether that’s stringing grapes onto wire to introduce interesting structure, combining flowers with fruit in unexpected ways, or manipulating petals to create completely new shapes and textures.
For Samantha, it is not just about arranging flowers. It is about reimagining them to create something unique, playful, and full of life. Rather than looking only at florals for inspiration, she draws on fashion, interiors, and broader design culture, reinterpreting them through her own creative lens so that every piece still feels Plantita distinctly.

As she describes her style:
I would describe my style as fun, playful, and a little unexpected. I’m really drawn to color and love creating designs that feel vibrant, fresh, and full of personality.
Milestones, Rewards, and Challenges
For Samantha, the most rewarding part of building Plantita & Co. Bloom Bar & Studio has been creating a life where ambition and family can coexist.

What began as a creative outlet has grown into a thriving business that now offers something deeply meaningful: balance.
After years of working more than 50 hours a week and missing special moments with her children, Samantha has built a business that gives her the flexibility to be present as a founder and as a mother.
With a growing team, more freedom in her schedule, and the recent arrival of baby number three, this season of life has been especially meaningful.
As Samantha shares:
There was a time when I was caught in the rat race, working 50+ hours a week and missing so many of my kids’ special moments. Now, my life looks completely different.
A major milestone in that journey was the expansion into Plantita Bloom Bar & Studio, creating a beautiful, hands-on space where people could interact with florals in a joyful and immersive way.
For Samantha, every “first” still holds a special place – her first major event, first retail installation, and first Bloom Bar.
Each one was a reminder that she was building something real, step by step.
Looking Ahead
For Samantha, the next chapter is continued expansion.

The vision is to grow larger and more refined while still retaining the creativity and personality that define the brand.
As she puts it:
In the next five years, I see that momentum continuing. I’d love to be at a point where we’re executing events almost daily, supported by a strong, full-time team that helps bring everything to life seamlessly.
Samantha is also looking ahead to opening another location within the next 12 months, a dedicated space to create, design, host, and connect with the community.
