Sisters in Sync, a non-profit organization that provides spaces where Black girls and women share collective experiences, host their #MaybeNextTime campaign in Hamilton.
Attendees will learn about disparities and challenges faced by racialized and religious minority communities, specifically for Black women and girls who experience assaults, microaggressions, and discrimination deeply rooted in dangerous racist and misogynistic ideologies.
The summit aims to
Raise Awareness: Increase public understanding of the challenges faced by Black girls and women regarding violence and disclosure.
Design Responsive Supports: Collaboratively develop effective support systems for survivors.
Push for Systemic Changes: Advocate for policy changes and systemic shifts to address the root causes of violence against Black girls.
This summit is welcoming of everyone – friends, families, community leaders, male allies, and supports with the professional development of service providers.
