Toronto’s Carnival season is officially heating up as LUX Carnival, one of Canada’s premier cultural ambassadors and carnival bands, kicks off its 2026 season with its highly anticipated band launch this Saturday, April 4th.

Taking place at Nia Centre for the Arts, Canada’s first professional Black arts centre, this year’s theme, ARTOPIA, merges the vibrant colours and visual storytelling of Carnival with the expressive world of art.

Guests can look forward to an inspiring evening filled with stunning costume reveals, live DJs, electrifying performances, and the lively spirit of Carnival, all within one of Toronto’s most culturally meaningful spaces.

More than just a launch, the event signals the start of the road season and offers masqueraders a first look at what LUX has planned for 2026, with on-site registration opportunities. Tickets are available now, so don’t miss out on securing your spot.

Known for its vibrant energy, strong community presence, and commitment to accessibility, LUX Carnival continues to stand out as one of the most forward-thinking bands in Canada’s Carnival landscape.

Notably, LUX is recognized as Canada’s first Caribbean Carnival band to feature and highlight kids with special needs, helping create a more inclusive and welcoming space within Carnival culture.

That mission of accessibility and community is at the heart of this year’s launch, inviting everyone to join a celebration of creativity, culture, and inclusion.
Whether you’re a longtime masquerader preparing for the road or someone interested in experiencing the culture, secure your spot early to join the ARTOPIA celebration and be among the first to witness the vibrant showcase!
