Kai Thomas was awarded the 2023 Atwood Gibson Writers’ Trust prize for fiction and shortlisted for the Governor General’s Award for Fiction and the Amazon Canada First Novel Award.
The novel ‘ In the Upper Country’ provides an engaging tale of the fates of two unforgettable women—one just beginning a journey of reckoning and self-discovery and the other completing her life’s last vital act—intertwine in this sweeping, powerful novel set at the terminus of the Underground Railroad.
A Q&A with the audience and an autograph session will follow.
