Coors Original is looking for Canadian businesses that have the potential to make a lasting impact within their communities for its Coors Original Legacy Lift contest.
About the Contest
The Coors Original Legacy Lift contest offers grant funds to small business owners in Canada based on responses to the contest’s questions. Applicants are required to respond to each of the following questions in a video of no more than 150 seconds in length;
Tell us about your business.
Tell us about yourself (you may also reference your co-founders); what is your background, and why are you passionate about your business;
How will you leave a legacy behind through your business; what positive impact (including but not limited to social, cultural, or environmental) do you believe your business will make on Canada;
What has been the hardest part of getting your business started; explain a specific challenge and how you are working to overcome it;
Share an example of a moment where you used grit or courage to persevere through a moment of hardship for your business.
Applicant submissions will be reviewed by a panel composed of qualified judges. 5 Finalists will be selected based on their submissions to the contest’s questions.

Submission demonstrates owners/founders’ forward thinking and long-term business plan (10%)
Submission demonstrates owners/founders’ passion for their business (15%);
Submission demonstrates owners/founders’ grit, courage, conviction, and willingness to persevere through hardships (25%); and
Submission showcases how the business could make a positive and lasting impact for their community and others (50%)
Available Funding/Prizing
There are five finalist prizes and a grand prize of $40000. The finalist prizes include
Transportation to the event (ground or air, depending on the finalist’s residence;
Night hotel accommodation (double occupancy) and a per diem of $250 and two drinks per person.
Each Successful Finalist will be required to attend the pitch event and participate in a 1-minute live elevator pitch to a Coors Original Legacy Lift team member on site to qualify for the Grand Prize.
Grand Prize is a $40,000 check.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The eligibility criteria include
Applicants must be a resident of Canada (excluding Quebec)
Applicants must be of legal drinking age within the province they reside.
Applicant must be the founder/owner of a for-profit small business of less than 100 employees.
Applicant’s business must be located, registered/incorporated in, and primarily doing business in Canada, excluding the province of Quebec;
Applicant’s business must be legally operated but not be related to selling or use of alcohol or any other beverages, legally offered drugs, including but not limited to tobacco or marijuana, weapons, or pornographic/sexual products.
NOTE THAT
The applications exclude
Employees, representatives, or agents of Molson Canada 2005, Citizen Relations L.P. (the “Sponsors”), or any of their respective affiliates and related companies, advertising or promotional agencies, contest judging organizations, any participating stores, or the prize suppliers
an employee or contractor of a provincial liquor authority, a beer distribution company or a participating licensed establishment, or any liquor licensee authorized by a provincial liquor authority;
anyone involved in the development and/or administration of the contest
a member of the immediate family (defined as parents, siblings, children, and spouse, regardless of where they live) or household (whether related or not) of any of the above persons.
