The City of Toronto has opened applications for this year’s Starter Company Plus Grant, a program designed for small businesses. The Starter Company Plus Grant supports eligible entrepreneurs looking to build their small businesses. Selected entrepreneurs will receive training, mentoring, and advice, and will be eligible to apply for a micro-grant of $5,000 to support the growth and expansion of their business.

The Starter Company Plus Grant program includes:

• Up to 15 hours of business training,
• A micro-grant of $5,000, and
• Up to three months of advisory and mentoring services.

The Starter Company Plus program has multiple streams throughout the year.

• Up to 15 hours of business training, and
• Up to three months of advisory and mentoring services.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Eligible businesses must

• Be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.
• Must have been in operation for a minimum of 6 months and up to 10 years, and be able to demonstrate financial activity statements for this period.
• Not be enrolled in any other government-funded employment program,
• Be a resident of Toronto with the ability to demonstrate proof of physical address.
