Handcrafted bonbons and chocolate bars are coming to Summerhill as beloved Toronto chocolatier Chocolat de Kat opens its new boutique on October 31st.

Located at The James, 8 Price Street, Unit 6, the new shop marks the next chapter for the artisan chocolatier, bringing its signature chocolate creations to the Summerhill neighbourhood.

To celebrate opening day, the first 100 customers to make a purchase will receive a complimentary two-pack of the brand’s best-selling bonbons. The packaging also doubles as a $5 gift card toward a future purchase at the Summerhill location.
A Long-Awaited Home in Summerhill
The boutique was designed by Future Studio, the Toronto and New York-based studio behind Chocolat de Kat’s factory and retail space in the Junction Triangle, as well as spaces including Othership and Bar Prima.
For owner and CEO Kata Ambrus, the opening has been a long time coming.

“We’ve been thinking about Summerhill since January 2024, so seeing it finally come to life is incredibly exciting,” says Ambrus. “We were very intentional about where we wanted to grow next. We wanted to be central, accessible and have a wonderful neighbourhood feeling, so we’re thrilled to be part of everything happening right now in this neighbourhood.”
Holiday Chocolates Arrive November 1st
Just in time for the holiday season, Chocolat de Kat will launch its holiday collection on November 1st.

This year’s lineup includes the brand’s Advent Calendar in a new Santa’s Beard design, signature Hanukkah boxes and cookie-inspired bonbon tins featuring new flavours.
Chocolate lovers can also look forward to the second edition of the Toronto Tasting Collection, which transforms some of the brand’s favourite desserts from around the city into miniature bonbons.
More Flavourful Surprises in Store
On November 7th and 8th, Chocolat de Kat will introduce a Summerhill exclusive: hot chocolate from Maury Rubin, founder of New York City’s City Bakery. Rubin has shared his celebrated recipe with the chocolatier, and the hot chocolate will be served exclusively at the Summerhill boutique throughout the winter.
He’ll also be in Toronto on November 7th and 8th to serve it to customers in person, with a two-for-one offer available throughout the weekend.
Whether you’re stopping by for a box of bonbons, looking for a holiday gift or settling in with a cup of hot chocolate, the new boutique offers another sweet reason to visit Summerhill.
As always, you can keep up with new restaurant and store openings, local food spots, and things to do across Toronto and the GTA on efosa.
