This September, Canada’s largest Mexican celebration returns to Nathan Phillips Square, bringing two days of live music, authentic Mexican food, lucha libre, cultural performances and family-friendly entertainment to the heart of Toronto on September 12th and 13th.

The two-day cultural celebration will showcase more than 70 Mexican food options, giving visitors the chance to explore a wide range of traditional flavours and regional specialties. For those who like a little extra heat, a dedicated Salsa Pavilion will feature an assortment of spicy sauces and flavours.

Throughout the weekend, Nathan Phillips Square will come alive with live entertainment spanning Mariachi, rock, ska, Norteñas, cumbia, rancheras, salsa and more.

Among the cultural highlights will be a performance by Puro México Ballet, taking audiences on a journey through México’s history, culture and traditions. The performance will be accompanied by the powerful sounds of Mariachi Vientos del Norte and will feature traditional Aztec and folkloric dances alongside other cultural performances.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet Lele, one of México’s most recognizable cultural symbols. The traditional Otomí doll represents the artistry and heritage of the Otomí community and has travelled around the world, sharing a piece of Mexican culture with audiences internationally.

The festival will also feature lucha libre, traditional Mexican dance, family and children’s activities, giveaways, contests and special activations throughout the weekend.

For more than 30 years, Mexican Day Toronto has brought the community together in the heart of the city to celebrate Mexican culture, music, food and traditions, creating an annual gathering that showcases the richness and diversity of México in Toronto.
