Celebration of All Things Vegan
This weekend, the vibrant Burlington VegFest, an annual celebration of plant-based living, will return to the unique and scenic Spencer Smith Park, nestled on the shores of Lake Ontario (just 1 hour from Toronto), on August 16th from 11:30 am – 6:00 pm.
Returning for its fourth year, this family-friendly event will feature a wide variety of delicious 100% plant-based comfort foods from local and regional vendors, catering to different dietary preferences. In addition, there will be cruelty-free fashion and personal care products, engaging educational talks, live cooking demonstrations, and fun activities for all ages.
Highlights of this year’s programming include an engaging talk by psychiatrist Dr. Linda Plowright titled “Nutrition for Mental Health” that explores the powerful connection between diet and emotional well-being, and an in-depth look with MC Fiona Roossien at the recent report by Dr. Nicholas Carter for the Freedom Food Alliance, “Harvesting Denial, Distractions & Deception” shining a light on animal agriculture’s disinformation.
For the little ones, there are plenty of engaging and fun activities to enjoy —from a bouncy castle and dunk tank to the sandy beach steps away. Also, attendees can connect directly with businesses, organizations, and thought leaders who are shaping a more sustainable and compassionate future.
With its stunning waterfront location, welcoming atmosphere, and inspiring mix of food, ideas, and community spirit, Burlington VegFest offers something for everyone. Whether you’re vegan, vegan-curious, or love good food and good company.
