As Toronto gears up for the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, The Real Jerk is serving up more than just bold island flavours — they’re inviting guests to immerse themselves in the rich legacy of Caribbean rum at the Angostura Rum Tasting, happening Wednesday, July 30th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at their home location: 842 Gerrard St. E, Toronto.
This premier tasting event celebrates over 200 years of excellence from The House of Angostura, proudly distilled in Trinidad & Tobago. Guests will sample a range of award-winning rums — from light, smooth blends to bold, aged expressions — all crafted using traditional methods and renowned for their complex, tropical spice notes.
Hosted during Carnival week, the energy will be high with MC Lyte on the mic, bringing nonstop vibes and island rhythms. The evening also features a special appearance by Raymond Edwards, Chief Brand Educator at The House of Angostura, who will not only guide guests through tasting techniques but also share fascinating rum history and insider knowledge from one of the last remaining family-owned distilleries in the Caribbean.
Whether you’re a rum lover, Carnival enthusiast, or just looking for a unique experience, this event is your chance to sip, learn, and celebrate the rich heritage of the Caribbean in true Toronto fashion.
As always, you can keep up with all the fun happenings in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area on efosa.
