About Good Lovelies
Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough, and Susan Passmore are a trio of songwriters, multi-instrumentalists, and gorgeous harmonizers known for their nostalgic sound during the holidays that crosses between folk-roots, old-time swing, soul, and bluegrass.
Accompanying them onstage, as always, will be their Merry Men, featuring some of Canada’s finest musicians – Robbie Grunwald, Steve Zsirai, and Mark Mariash.

Imagine all of your favorite Christmas songs and a few others that you may or may not know, sung by some of Canada’s favorite Blues voices!
A Bluesy Christmas is a Bluesified version of all of your favorite Christmas tunes, From “Merry Christmas, Baby” to “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” to “Christmas Time in New Orleans.”
It’s all here with an All-Star band bringing you all the nuances and style of the originals.
Again, songs you know by Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, Albert King, and Louis Armstrong are all here. Friends, Chuck Jackson( lead singer of The Downchild Blues Band) & Johnny Max ( 2 X JUNO Award nominee) got together with their pal and one of Canada’s finest female vocalists, Cheryl Lescom( Ronnie Hawkins & Matt Minglewood), had an idea to bring a show to their home of Port Credit and it has blossomed form there.
You know all the songs and will laugh at all the banter from these close friends.

The City of Oshawa hosts its Bright and Merry Market and Tree-lighting ceremony combines traditional tree-lighting with a festive holiday market.

November 29th – CPKC Holiday Train
The 2024 CPKC Holiday Train will tour Canada and the U.S. from November 21st to December 20th to raise money, food, and awareness to support food banks.
Musicians will play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage as the train stops. CPKC donates to the local food bank at each stop and encourages attendees to donate monetary or heart-healthy food.

The event starts with the exciting Community Santa Claus Parade at 4:00, where local businesses and groups participate with creative floats, and several bands march while playing rousing tunes. After the parade, you are invited to wander up and down Main Street to enjoy the sights and sounds of a bygone era with carollers singing and playing music.
Stroll down Main Street, enjoy the festivities, and be entertained by jugglers, musicians, and singers. All the while, you are tempted at every turn by refreshments such as hot apple cider, hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, cookies, and much more.

On Saturday, December 14th, the Fossil Rockers are coming to town with their Christmas Benefit Concert in aid of the Townsend Smith Foundation to help build a hospice in North Halton. The band will perform for free, with virtually all the proceeds going to the Foundation. The show will feature a variety of new and old holiday songs performed by the group and a number of special guests, including the St. John’s Choir. The show will have something for everyone!
